Customer Brief:
Warmco installed an energy efficient warehouse heating system for Adtran Networks Ltd in May 2024. For this warehouse heating project, Warmco were asked to supply and install four Warmco / Winterwarm high efficiency, suspended, EH25 electric space heaters, into this modern, fully insulted, brand new portal framed building.
Features of the Heating System:
This customer asked Warmco to offer warehouse heating for their brand new premises. Specifically, they asked us to keep these storage and distribution premises to 20c when it was minus 3C outside. They chose to use suspended heaters to free up much-needed floor space. The EH25 electric space heaters can be used to get their warehouse spaces up to temperature quickly, but once the thermostatic control panels register that they have achieved the desired temperature, they have the capacity to modulate down from a 25kw maximum to 10kw on low fire (cumulatively 100kw down to 40), to ‘top up’ the heat, making them a 95.9% maximum efficiency. This modulation feature offers a fuel cost saving of up to 30% against standard non-modulating models of heater. (These heaters can be carbon neutral and they carry a 2-year parts and one year labour warranty). We also quoted to install six Winterwarm WCU60 destratification (heat recovery) fans on thermostatic controls. Each fan was suspended 1m from the roof purlins, to provide two full air changes per hour. These are high efficiency axial fans which push large volumes of heated air back to the working zone. The fan operates when the roof space temperature rises and can also provide ‘free heat’ if positioned over lights or machines that generate their own heat. This can save up to 30% on running costs for the heaters, by reducing the further heating required. The installation took just four days, during which time our engineers worked hard to create minimal disruption to the customer.
