Warmco were asked to install a bespoke heating system into this 40,000 sq.ft. area which was being converted from a former factory space into a trampolining centre and children’s play area.
For this project, we heated the different zones of the building with different heaters. Firstly, we installed one of our smaller Winterwarm TR50, warm air space heaters into the cafe area. This model of heater can modulate its heat output from 50kw on full power (to get the space to temperature), down to 32kw (once the desired temperature is achieved, to top up the heat and keep the customers warm). One advantage of this is that it prevents the space from being over-heated, making customers feel uncomfortable, and importantly it saves gas and therefore money. Additionally, when working on low fire, (with the air supply fan working at a lower speed) noise levels are reduced; which is ideal in the cafe area.
We also installed three bigger Winterwarm TR100 heaters into the trampolining area and a TR80 into the children’s play area, in order to achieve the desired temperatures. At full power the 101kw of each of the three TR100 models and the 76kw of the TR80 (give a cumulative power of 379kw) and can take the space to the desired temperature quickly. Then the units can modulate their heat output down (to 64 kw on each TR100 and 47kw on the TR80, so down to a total of 239kw), to simply ‘top up’ the heat, to maintain the desired temperature, (as measured by the DB8 thermostatic control). This facility can offer fuel savings of up to 30% against a standard market non-modulating heaters.
The trampolining area at 7m high also required heat recirculation so we installed de-stratification fans, to push down the warm air down that would otherwise accumulate at the higher levels. Due to a lack of space in the play area, the TR80 situated there, was hung vertically from the roof, to allow it to also act as a de-stratification fan, recirculating the heat. This project was completed over a two week period and Warmco worked alongside our customer to complete the installation around the installation of their other equipment.
