Customer Brief:
Warmco installed an energy efficient factory heating system for Cav Ice Protection in November 2022. For this project, Warmco were asked to heat a 20,000 sq ft modern portal framed factory unit. We installed four Winterwarm suspended XR80+, high efficiency, natural gas fired unit heaters, into their manufacturing space.
Features of the Heating System:
This manufacturer of ice protection and drag reduction technologies for the airline industry, asked Warmco to replace two Powrmatic CPX200 gas, floor standing heaters which were coming to the end of their lives. They needed to keep their factory heated up to a temperature of 18 degrees (when minus 3 outside). They chose to use suspended heaters to free up much-needed floor space. TheXR80+ heaters can get their spaces up to temperature quickly (using the full 68.6 kw), then once the thermostat registers that it is at the desired temperature, they can modulate down (to 46kw), to ‘top up’ the heat. This gives them 95.9% maximum efficiency. This modulation feature offers a fuel cost saving of up to 30% against standard non-modulating factory heaters. These heaters comply with ErP as determined by EU 2021, they have a ten-year warranty on their heat exchangers, and they have a 2-year parts and one year labour warranty. After completing two pre-installation surveys to overcome site access issues, this factory heating installation took just three days. During this time our engineers worked hard to create minimal disruption to the customer.
