Customer Brief:
This was a larger project undertaken in February 2022, where Warmco were asked by the customer to heat these 40,000 sq.ft., poorly insulated, factory premises that they had recently moved into. They had installed a mezzanine level within the building, which meant that the old radiant heaters were no longer appropriate and required replacement.
Features of the Heating System:
As part of a move, this customer needed to heat two sections of the building which is used for the repair of mobile phones. We installed 16 suspended, Winterwarm XR30 Plus natural gas fired heaters into this space under the mezzanine floor and two TR150 heaters into the adjacent open area. Cumulatively, on full fire these 16 XR30 heaters have a maximum heat output of 480 kw (30 kw per heater) which can be used to get the spaces to temperature quickly. However, once the thermostatic control panels register that the space is up to the desired temperature the heaters have the capacity to modulate down to (20kw per heater) and 320kw altogether, on low fire. They can all also work independently to ‘spot heat’ their particular areas. Additionally, the two TR150s can modulate from 140kw down to 100kw on low fire to heat the open area. This modulation feature offers a fuel cost saving of up to 30% against standard non-modulating models of heater. We were also asked to install 16 CECX1400 Powrmatic destratification fans which would redistribute heat that would otherwise gather at the 9 metre apex of the building. This ability to push down the heat within this large area, also offers our customer an additional fuel cost saving of up to 30%. The installation took two weeks, during which time our engineers worked round the customers many employees who continued to work from this space, in order to create minimal disruption to their schedules.
