Customer Brief:
Warmco installed an energy efficient factory heating system for Ingram Micro in February 2022. In this larger heating system design and installation project, Warmco installed a range of space heaters into these 40,000 sq.ft, poorly insulated, factory premises that our customer had just moved into. They had installed a mezzanine level within the building, which made a re-design of the factory heating system essential. This was because the old hanging radiant heaters were no longer appropriate for the space and so, required replacement.
Features of the Heating System:
After moving premises, our customer needed to heat two sections of this building, now used for the repair of mobile phones. We installed 16 suspended, Winterwarm XR30+ natural gas fired factory heaters into this space under the mezzanine floor and two TR150 heaters into the adjacent open area. Cumulatively, on full fire, the 16 XR30 heaters have a maximum heat output of 480 kw (30kw per heater) which can be used to get the spaces to temperature quickly. Then, once the thermostatic control panels read that the space is up to the set temperature, the heaters will modulate down to 20kw per heater, a cumulative output of 320kw, on low fire. They can all also work independently to ‘spot heat’ their particular areas. Additionally, the two TR150s can each modulate from 140kw down to 100kw on low fire to heat the open area. This modulation feature offers a fuel cost saving of up to 30% against standard (non-modulating) models of heater. We were also installed 16 CECX1400 Powrmatic destratification fans which will redistribute heat that would otherwise gather at the 9 metre apex of this building. Pushing the heat down within these areas, also offers our customer an additional fuel cost saving of up to 30%. The factory heating installation took two weeks, during which time our engineers worked round the customer’s many employees who continued to work in the area. Our engineers always work hard to create minimal disruption to our customers’ schedules.
