Customer Brief:
Warmco installed an energy efficient, electric warehouse heating system for J N Newton Waterproofing Systems Ltd in December 2022. We were asked to install a Winterwarm EH40, suspended, electric, warm air heater in this modern 6,000 sq. ft. portal frame warehouse unit in Leeds.
Features of the Heating System:
The warehouse was used to store temperature sensitive water proofing products. It required background heating to keep the products above 5c. The space had previously been heated using a bulk propane gas fired heating system. Our client was trying to reduce their carbon footprint, so they decided to switch to an electric heating system, to use electricity from renewable sources. The EH40 heater modulates automatically from 40kw down to 20kw (to top up the heat), once the thermostat reads that the area is at the desired temperature. This can create a fuel cost saving of up to 30% (compared to non-modulating heaters). Another key advantage of these heaters is that they are very compact. They are just 650mm wide x 490mm high x 655mm deep (allowing for the fan motor at the back of the heater). They can be either hung from roof purlins or they can be fixed on wall brackets; saving valuable space on the ground. This warehouse heating installation was completed within one day, working around the customer to limit disruption to their activities.
