Customer Brief:

We were asked to take down and replace the existing, redundant radiant heaters and with eight Warmco / Winterwarm, TR80 suspended, unit space heaters and 16 Powrmatic CECx 3350 destratification fans.

Features of the Heating System:

Following two surveys to establish the best heating system (some areas of the retail space and café had poor U values), our engineers began work in July 2018 over a two week period. These Warmco Winterwarm TR, suspended unit heaters each have their own DB8 control panel giving maximum flexibility to the eight working zones and a modulation feature fitted as standard. This ensures the area to be heated can reach the required temperature quickly and then can be switched to low fire and will modulate throughout the day which gives good savings on fuel costs. More specifically, the TR80 heater modulates from 76kw down to 47kw giving this large 44,000 sq ft retail space a total heating variation from 608kw on full fire, down to to 376kw; heating the retail space to 18 degrees celsius (when minus 1 degree celsius outside). The Powrmatic CECx 3350 de-stratification fans push the heat back to the areas below to redistribute the heat accumulating in the roof space. This would give two air changes per hour, within the building.
