Customer Brief
Warmco installed an energy efficient workshop heating system for Kimberley Caravans in September 2022. We were asked to design and fit a workshop heating system in this 4,000 sq. ft. caravan engineering space. We installed a Winterwarm, XR40+ and a Winterwarm XR20+, suspended, propane fired warm air heaters into the space.
Features of the Heating system
This was a brand-new portal framed building and because it was insulated to modern standards, it had lower heating requirements. The workshop heating system was designed to heat the area to 20 degrees when the temperature outside is minus three degrees. To do this we used two of our modern, energy efficient heaters from the Winterwarm XR+ range. These modulating heaters will automatically switch to low fire when the area gets up to the desired temperature which can offer large cost savings (compared to non-modulating heaters). For example, the XR40+ will modulate from 40kw down to 25, when the thermostat reads that the area has reached the set temperature. We sat the heaters on wall brackets and flued the gases through the outside walls to help free up floor space. These heaters were room sealed and fan assisted to take clean air from outside to burn. This is often needed if you have any particulates, such as dust or spray paint inside the building. Sitting these heaters on suspended wall brackets, freed up lots of useful floor space. This workshop heating installation was completed in two days during which our engineers worked hard to keep disruption our customer low.
