Customer Brief:

Warmco installed an energy efficient warehouse heating system for Untha UK Ltd in April 2022. For this project, Warmco were asked to heat this 8,000 square foot warehouse space. We installed a Winterwarm XR30 and an XR60+ suspended, natural gas fired unit heater, alongside three WCU40 de-stratification fans.

Features of the Heating System:

This shredding machine manufacturer needed to keep their warehouse to a temperature of 16 degrees (with a temperature of minus three outside). The modern portal framed unit was split into a smaller 2000 sq. ft space which we heated with our XR30 heater, and a larger 6,000 sq. ft area where we located our XR60 plus heater. Both heaters can be used to get their spaces up to temperature quickly, then once the thermostat reads that they have achieved the set temperature, they have the capacity to modulate down from 29kw to 19 kw and 61kw to 37kw, respectively on low fire, to top up the heat. This modulation feature offers a fuel cost saving of up to 30% against standard non-modulating heaters. We also installed three WCU40 heat recovery fans into the high roof voids, to push down the heat that would gather there. Typically, adding this type of fan, can offer an extra fuel cost saving of around 30%.

This warehouse heating installation project took just two days. During this time our engineers worked hard to create minimal disruption to our valued customer.
