In January 2020, we were contacted by a company in Hayes, to quote for a heating solution for a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse involving the replacement of a faulty Benson VRA145, gas fired unit heater with one of our suspended, Winterwarm TR150 unit heaters.
This standard portal frame building was around 40-50 years old and is used to store a range of goods for distribution. The ambient temperature needed to be maintained, to prevent dampness and damage to the goods. As there was mains gas available on the site, we quoted to install a Winterwarm/Warmco TR150 gas fired modulating heater with an output of 145kw on high fire, down to 94 on low fire. This can offer a saving of up to 30% against the fuel costs of a non-modulating heater. The new heater was suspended from the roof purlins, 4m from the floor and fitted with a fan assisted, room sealed flue system which for efficient combustion, uses clean air from outside the building. The old Benson heater which was removed had a leak on its roof penetrating flue, so we removed this, eliminated the leak and used a horizontal wall flue to avoid similar issues in future.
